University Heights Elementary School is located at 645 Paxson Avenue in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. The school was named in memory of Howard D. Morrison, a very distinguished educator, in 1977.
I am very excited to be part of the University Heights Family as principal. I am honored to be a part of a school community filled with enthusiasm about education and a staff dedicated to the success of every student. I view my postilion as both challenging and exciting. Our school is committed to meeting the needs of all of our students. Our school community helps to provide a positive, nurturing environment conducive to learning.
As educators we meet the needs of our students academically, socially and emotionally. Our goal is to help each child to be the best he or she can be and become a caring, responsible citizen in the community. I believe the Six Pillars of Character are the foundation of the school. We practice the Six Pillars of Character: Respect, Caring, Responsibility, Fairness, Citizenship and Trustworthiness in all of our activities. Implementing programs such as Second Step and Steps to Respect help us to develop good character.
Our school community, teachers, students, and parents work together collaboratively to help our students succeed. I look forward to working with our PTA at University Heights to help with all aspects of our school program.
We continue to grow as a staff, school and community. We work together toward a common goal - providing an excellent education, nurturing environment and the support our children need to be successful in school.
I believe that strengthening family involvement in school will help to increase student achievement. This year our school theme is:
University Heights is Wild About Learning
