Degrees and Certifications:
This is my twenty-second year teaching. I graduated from Monmouth College in 1993. I have a Bachelors of Science degree as Teacher of the Handicap for grades K-12. I taught my first year at a private school named, Children's Day School. I then taught five years at Crichton Elementary School in a Self Contained classroom. Next, I had my two awesome sons, Zachery and Reece and stayed home for four years. I had then taught the next five years for a specialized program called CARES in which I provided education for children that had temporarily left the the surrounding school districts. The following three years I taught an anti bullying program for Campfire of New Jersey in the surroding tri-state area. Finally, I became a part of the teaching staff in Hamilton Township. The last six years I was a Resource Room Teacher at Lalor Elementary. I am now thrilled to be a Multi-Sensory Reading teacher at Kisthardt and Yardville elementary.

Sent home with your child is a packet of skill reinforcements as well as directions for Red Words, and websites to be utilized. During this time of remote learning, students in the Multisensory Reading Program are required to complete the following activities:
Your child should work on Power Up (high school students) for 20 minutes EACH day. This will target skills based on your child's individual needs and their point in the Orton Gillingham (Multisensory) progression.

Your child will bring home thier ring of red words. This has all of their words they have learned this year. Please choose from the following activities to practice 5 to 10 different words DAILY.
~ Use the sight word study method for each word (which is tap the words out on their arm).
~Write the red words in a sentences. (Do Not for get to use C.O.P.S.~ Capitals, Organization, Punctuation, and Spelling)
~Say, Spell, Say the words as you write them in shaving cream, rice, sand, etc.
~Each day choose one of the rootwords to cut, paste, and write your own definition of the rootword under the flaps in the picture you glued, in your morphology notebook.
