SPEECH THERAPY
Welcome back for the 2023-2024 school year!! My name is Andrea Bucchere and I am an ASHA certified, state licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. I have been an SLP for 22 years and this is my first year at University Heights Elementary School!
A little about myself, I am a mother to the three most amazing sons in the world ages 19, 18, and 15! I attended Rutgers University and The College of New Jersey during my undergraduate studies. I graduated from The College of New Jersey in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a minor in Deaf Studies and a concentration in Speech-Language Pathology. I received my Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology also from The College of New Jersey in 2001. In 2022, I completed my supervisor endorsement program at Georgian Court University. Over the course of my career I have had a wide variety of experiences. I spent some time working in the Mercer County Special Services School District, in a pediatric private practice, in acute care and also in sub-acute rehabilitation. I joined the Hamilton Township School District in the spring of 2012.
I keep a weekly blog about activities we do in speech therapy as well as a Twitter page. At the end of each week ( or as often as I can :) ) I am going to give a brief overview of what we did in speech as a way for you and I to stay connected. The top post will always be the most recent. My hope is that these posts will give you a glimpse of some of the activities we are working on week to week. As always, if there are any questions or concerns, please contact me. Email is always the best way to reach me: abucchere@htsdnj.org There are links on the left side of the website under the Parent Resources tab that will provide some tips and information important for communication and language.
I am thrilled to get to know all of my new students, to see all of those students from last year that I have missed so much, and am excited to work as a team to develop excellent speech and language skills!!
