- Women’s History Month – We are still celebrating Women’s History Month! Marie Curry is the only woman to ever win two Nobel Prizes. Her first award was for physics for her work on spontaneous radiation with her husband, with her second being in Chemistry for her studies of radioactivity.
- Hamilton Township Fine Arts Display is currently on display at the Hamilton Twp. Public Library through March 28th. The opening of the festival is this Wednesday evening, March 6th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend that night to see the Arts Display for the Township. We encourage you anytime this month to check out the incredible artworks of the elementary, middle and high school students who have worked so hard this year in their visual arts program. Grice’s art department has a display exemplifying many of our students’ artwork! Come and check it out!
- Cookies for a Cause – Today will be our monthly Cookies for a Cause Sale. This month’s proceeds will support the Renaissance Program. Cookies will cost $1.00 per package.
- Freshmen Orientation (Hamilton West) – Attention 8th Grade students attending Hamilton West next year: There will be a freshmen Orientation at Hamilton West on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 @ 6:30 p.m. More information is on the website. If you have any questions, please see your guidance counselor.

- Renaissance: Grice Renaissance will be hosting a Spring Fling Dance on Thursday, March 21, 2024. Permission slips will be passed out during home base. Please bring your slips and money to your home base teacher by Wednesday, March 20th.
- School Store: By popular demand, the school store will be open this week Tuesday through Thursday during all three lunch periods. Items will include novelty pens, pencils and erasers. Items will range in price from 10 cents to 2 dollars.
- Word of the Day – The word of the day is: Emulate. If you emulate someone or something, you try to be like that person or thing. Sentence: She grew up emulating her sports heroes. If you see Ms. Christie around the school and use the word of the day in a correct sentence, you will get a point. The student with the most points at the end of the month will receive a prize.
- 2024 Yearbooks – Yearbooks are now on sale for the price of $25 or check to Grice Middle School. Please put your money in an envelope with your name. The sale runs through to mid April, then will be $30 so reserve yours today for this special price. Also, you can order online – the link is posted on the Grice website. See Mrs. Wilson in Room B-105 with questions or drop off your order.

- Women’s History Month – We are still celebrating Women’s History Month! Virne “Jackie” Mitchell, a pitcher, was the first woman in professional baseball. While women still don’t have much of a presence in baseball today, Mitchell proved that it wasn’t because they couldn’t play.

- We are celebrating Women’s History Month! In the words of Rihanna, cheers to the weekend! Did you know that Rihanna became the first youngest self-made woman billionaire? Her make-up company, Fenty, has led to her success. She is also a mom, actress and singer.
- Band – Attention Jazz Ensemble students: please don’t forget to take your instruments home. The Jazz Ensemble will be competing in the Steinert High School Jazz Festival tomorrow at 11:15 a.m. Please come out to Steinert tomorrow morning and support our awesome students! Admission for students (with a student ID) is $5 and admission for adults is $10.

The ticket sale will start on Thursday, March 8th and go through March 11th. Students will pick up a PINK AND GREEN CARD SHOW ticket form from Room A-102. Students will place their money and order form in the sealed envelope provided with their full name and homebase on the outside of the envelope. Student must show their pink or green card to your teacher before turning in their money and form. Teachers will send their students with a pass to Room A-102 periods 2, 7, 8 or 9 with their envelope. Mrs. Pace Murvin will check the list for marking period 2 pink and green card holders. Tickets will be placed in the homebase teachers’ mailbox the morning of March 12th. Students will receive their marking period 2 cards before the start of the sale.

- We are celebrating Women’s History Month! Dr. Miller’s cousin, Jamie Greubel-Poser, is an Olympic Bronze-medalist bobsledder. Dr. Miller has traveled to Russia and South Korea to see her cousin compete in the Olympic Games in 2014 and 2018 respectively. When she was a senior in high school, Dr. Miller actually competed in the Bobsled World Cup with her cousin, and they won 5th place! Go Team USA!

- We are celebrating Women’s History Month! The first Women’s Day celebration in the United States was in 1909. More than 7 decades later, Congress established National Women’s History Week to be commemorated annually in the second week of March. In 1987, Congress expanded the week to a month.
- Cookies for a Cause – Today will be our monthly Cookies for a Cause Sale. This month’s proceeds will support the Renaissance Program. Cookies will cost $1.00 per package.

- GMS Diversity Club
- Who: Any Grice student looking for a Safe Space to be themselves and plan/enact social change at Grice
- What: This club will meet to discuss ways in which we can make Grice more aware and accepting of race, ethnic, and gender diversity.
- When: Every Monday from 3pm-4:00pm
- Where: B3
- Why: Students should be offered a Safe Space free from judgement in which they can freely discuss the intricacies of diversity awareness and plan for social change
- Chips Ahoy! Oreo! Chocolate Chip! Sugar Cookies! There will be a Cookie For a Cause sale on Friday during periods 1, 2, and 3. Cookies will cost $1.00. Cookies will be sold door to door. No hallway sales will be accepted. Proceeds from this month’s cookie sales will support student incentives.
- Renaissance – Renaissance is hosting a Teen Night at the YMCA on February 10th from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. Ready to Dance, play dodgeball, eat snacks and hang out with a friend? Join us at this event! Get a permission slip from your home base teacher.
- School Store: By popular demand, the school store will be open this week Tuesday through Thursday during all three lunch periods. Items will include novelty pens, pencils and erasers. Items will range in price from 10 cents to 2 dollars.
- 2024 Yearbooks – Yearbooks are now on sale for the price of $25 or check to Grice Middle School. Please put your money in an envelope with your name. The sale runs through to mid April, then will be $30 so reserve yours today for this special price. Also, you can order online – the link is posted on the Grice website. See Mrs. Wilson in Room B-105 with questions or drop off your order.
