Q & A

  • How long will they be online each day?

    Posted by:

During the remote period (Sept. 8 to Oct. 9), all students are working remotely.  Students will sign in daily by 8:50 AM so that I can take attendance, and get started with our Morning Meeting routine.  We will then move immediately into instruction.

Instruction for all subjects during remote learning will consist of students listening to some livestreamed mini lessons, and then breaking off to work on independent work.  During independent work time, students will have a consistent schedule where they will get to meet with their teacher for small groups on Google Meet.

MORE INFORMATION ON THIS AND HOW IT WORKS WILL BE EXPLAINED TO THE CLASS ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. Thank you for your patience.

During hybrid instruction (Oct. 12 and forward), students will be doing the same thing as above when they are on their home days.

We will spend a considerable amount of time the first week of school learning how to turn google meet microphones on/off, turn on/off video, and navigate the other programs used in 3rd grade.  It is my hope that by the end of September, every child will be extremely familiar with these apps and will be able to navigate them independently.  This will, in turn, relieve stress on the parents or guardians home with the children each day.

  • How does my child sign in each day? How does their day begin?

Your child will sign online at 8:50 each day (please be on time) for homeroom, attendance, and to begin our day.  They will do so by clicking on the Google Meet link at the top of our Google Classroom.  Here is a video showing you how to do that.  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1n55mw71y8MIk_vjsx2V9UmMaa4qM_zLg/view
