MEET THE COUNSELOR
School counselors are certified/licensed educators who improve student success for ALL students by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program. Below is more about who I am and what services and roles I partake in as a counselor at RMS;
My Background:
- I hold a bachelor's degree in Sociology with two minors in Psychology and Social Work from Rider University,
- I hold a master's degree in School Counseling from the College of New Jersey,
- I hold a certification in School Counseling in New Jersey,
- I have worked at elementary, middle, and high school levels, ranging from public schooling to special service districts.
My Roles and Duties:
- Anti-Bullying Specialist
- 504 Case Manager
- I&RS Committee Member
- High School and Vocational School Planning and Preparation
- Individual Short-Term Counseling Services
- Group Counseling Services (typically 6–8 sessions)
- Conflict Resolution
- Crisis Response
- Classroom Lessons and/or Presentations
- Outside Resources and Referrals
