Meet the School Counselor
I am the School Counselor for students in 6th grade (last names P-Z), 7th grade (last names G-M), and 8th grade (last names A-F). I also serve as an Anti-Bullying Specialist, 504 Case Manager, Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS) Team Member, and vocational high school liaison. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island and my Master of Science in School Counseling from Capella University. I also have a post graduate certificate in Contemporary Theory in Couple and Family Systems from Capella University. I also hold licensure as a Professional Counselor in NJ.
I have professional school counseling experience at the elementary, middle and high school levels. I love helping students with their transition to high school, setting goals, planning for their futures, and addressing any and all of their social/emotional and personal needs. I believe that with appropriate services, tools, and support, all students can be successful! By collaborating with students, faculty, and families, I believe that all students can be supported during their time in middle school, to best prepare them for their futures and help them become the best people, leaders, and lifelong learners they can be.
In accordance with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model Standards and our district standards to support students' growth in the areas of academic, social/emotional, personal, and college/career development, I offer the following services to all students:
- Individual counseling
- Group counseling
- Peer mediation/conflict resolutions
- Classroom lessons
- Coordination with and referral to outside agencies and providers
- Coordination with the I&RS Team
- 504 case management
