    Course Description and Proficiencies

    1. COURSE TITLE:  INTRODUCTION TO GRAPHIC ARTS
    2. LENGTH OF COURSE: 180 days, full year – 40 minute periods
    3. PERIODS SCHEDULED PER WEEK: 5
    4. SUMMARY OF COURSE:

    This course is designed to focus on the techniques of communications, primarily associated with the printed word, illustrations and photography. They will learn how to apply the basics of the design process in a visual manner. They will develop a portfolio of their work, including projects involving the processes of digital printing, silk screen and photography.

    • Movie Poster Designs
    • Brochure Designs

    1. The students will be assessed in the following manner:
    • Summative: Constructed Projects 50%
    • Formative: Class work-Documentation 40%
    • Individual: Class participation 10%

     

    1. Materials needed: Folder, school planner and two #2 pencils
