Homework Policy and Take Home Folders
An important part of fourth grade is to maintain an assignment pad. We work hard in Room 11 to stay organized by keeping our assignment pads updated!
Homework will be displayed daily on the Smartboard at the end of the day. Time will be given to the students to copy down the homework. Students are asked to take out their assignment pads at least once each day and write down the subject assignments as I go over them.
Please check your child's assignment pad daily! I use the assignment pad as a way of communication. Please feel free to write me a note in the assignment pad if you there is anything I need to be aware of.
If a student misses a homework assignment or assignments it will be collected and redistributed on Fridays for them to complete over the weekend. Parents must sign the note stapled to the front of the packet.
As part of our McGalliard Schoolwide Homework Policy, your child is expected to read for a minimum of 15 minutes each night, at least 4 times a week. Nightly reading practice at home is vital to your child's reading success.
Take Home Folders
Every day your child will take home his/her Take Home Folder. Please try to check this each day. It may contain important announcements, homework assignments, or completed work.
It is very important that your child brings his/her folder back to school each day. This will help to create a routine and continue the communication between home and school.
In addition, please use their folder as a way to communicate with me. For instance, if your child is doing something different from their normal schedule (such as going home with a friend or being picked up early from school) please send me a note in your child's folder. I will ask for notes to the teacher each morning.
Thanks in advance for all of your help and support this year!
